The virgin forest inventory dataset is including the location (point) of the last virgin forests identified by each Carpathians Convention Member, namely Czechia, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Ukraine, while no official inputs have been submitted by Poland. An additional layer is showing the official quasi virgin forest plots provided by Romania.
The attribute table indicates, when available, along the virgin forest location additional elements as the official name, the size, the county which it belongs, the altitude, the level of protection, the forest type according to the national classification and its correspondence with the European Nature Information System classes (EUNIS). The Carpathians area of study is delimitated by the Carpathian Environment Outlook (KEO).
